Graphic Design for Online Course

Jodi worked at Penn State University for over a decade designing visuals for online courses. This is just one example of the work she provided while there.

This course was so much fun to work on! It all began by meeting with the instructional designer (ID) assigned to the Marketing course, MKTG 301, Principles of Marketing. We began the project with a meeting to discuss some of the ideas both the ID and the faculty member had. The first steps for designing the visuals included brainstorming a color palette and appropriate fonts.

Graphics were often designed to support the written content provided by the professor. As you may know, great visuals help explain ideas and concepts better (and faster) than just plain text.
